King named to Cuomo’s energy committee

Tom King, president of National Grid in the United States, was named to New York Governor-Elect Andrew Cuomo’s Environment and Energy Transition Committee, the company announced today.

King, who joined National Grid as Executive Director of Electricity Distribution & Generation, and as president in July 2007, noted in a press release from the company today that the Governor-elect’s energy plan, Power NY, outlines a comprehensive path to success in energy efficiency, smart grid, renewables and critical need for continued investment in energy infrastructure.

National Grid is an international energy delivery company. In the United States, the company delivers electricity to roughly 3.3 million customers in New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island, and manages the electrical network on Long Island under an agreement with LIPA.

National Grid It is the largest distributor of natural gas in the northeastern U.S., serving approximately 3.4 million customers in New York, Massachusetts, New Hampshire and Rhode Island.
