Hofstra hosting wind farms conference Feb. 5

On Tuesday, February 5, Hofstra University (Uniondale, NY) will be the site of a conference focused on wind energy. Titled, “Offshore Wind: Long Island’s Future Energy Source,” the conference will feature a bevy of speakers including Congressman Steve Israel and keynote speaker Ken Law, the CEO of the Long Island Power Authority (LIPA).

The focus of the conference will be to discuss the impact of a wind farm while addressing topics such as the design of such a project, the cost, its potential environmental impact, and the steps needed to obtain governmental authorization.

The conference will be held from 9 a.m. until noon at the David S. Mack Hall at the Hofstra University Club, North Campus. Event registration is free, but required in advance.
